MetroWest

MetroWest is an upscale planned community spanning 1,805 acres in Orlando. Developed in the 1980s, MetroWest is another example of prime Florida real estate. Being a mixed-use community, it combines business, retail, entertainment, and residential properties together to make a well-rounded community.

Strict guidelines for quality, architecture of buildings and homes, and diligent landscaping and environmental cleanliness has earned MetroWest awards such Orlando’s City Beautiful Award and the 2013 Safety and Security Award from the Florida Communities of Excellence.

The area is perhaps most known for the MetroWest Golf Club that opened in 1987. The 18-hole golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., and is currently managed by the premier operator, Marriott Golf. It was voted as the best public golf course in Orlando.

Schools in MetroWest include MetroWest Elementary School and Valencia College, the latter of which was awarded in 2011 as the top community college nationwide by the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program. Children attending middle school go to Gotha Middle School or Chain of Lakes Middle School, both in nearby Windermere. High school students are zoned to Olympia High School in Orlando.
